My Experience at the Celebrity Softball Tournament: A Day of Connection, Resilience, and Veterans

This weekend, I had the incredible honor of participating in a celebrity softball tournament—an event filled with camaraderie, fun, and a powerful sense of community. It was surreal to be surrounded by such inspiring people, from athletes and entertainers to fellow advocates, all coming together to support a great cause and have a blast on the field. But for me, this day wasn’t just about softball; it was an opportunity to share my story and connect with others on a deeper level but most importantly- Listen to their story.

As many of you know, I’m a breast cancer survivor and a passionate advocate for women’s health. Standing on that field, I was reminded of how far I’ve come and how grateful I am for the chance to use my journey to inspire others. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I am grateful God has brought me to a place where I can thrive and share my story with others. Some days it is hard to believe where I am now… a survivor with a renewed purpose, celebrating each day and using my voice to make a difference.

Sharing my story at the tournament was both humbling and empowering. I could feel the support and encouragement from everyone around me as I talked about the importance of early detection, perseverance, and the power of faith. It reminded me of why I advocate for women’s health—not just to raise awareness, but to show others that they, too, have the strength to overcome whatever battles they’re facing. Hearing the stories that really mattered this weekend of Veterans that have served our country and lost a limb or came back with invisible wounds was absolutely humbling.

The tournament itself was unforgettable. There’s something magical about people from different walks of life coming together for a cause bigger than themselves. We laughed, we cheered each other on, and we celebrated resilience in all its forms. The energy was contagious, and the love and support flowing from the crowd fueled me with renewed strength and motivation.

I walked away from the day with a heart full of gratitude. I’m beyond thankful for the opportunity to share my journey, to encourage others, and to honor everyone who has fought or is fighting a battle of their own. Every survivor’s story is unique, but our shared strength is what brings us together and makes us unstoppable.

To everyone who’s been part of my journey, thank you for your support. And to all the brave souls out there facing their own challenges, know that you are not alone. There is a whole community cheering for you, just as I was surrounded by cheering voices this weekend. Together, we are stronger.

Until next time, stay resilient and keep shining and THRIVE!
